Mackenzie: Mixed Up Legend
Rainbows. Colorful streams of light. Weaving through the
sky, and also a young child's memory. But let me tell you how rainbows came to
be. It all started with a goddess named Isis. She was very determined. She was
not just the goddess of rainbows, but of the sky and wind up above. Every
captivating rainbow you've ever seen; with it's brightness and color etching
across the sky, it's radiance leaving you awestruck, was her creation, it's
magnificence glittering with magic.
Growing up, she had hair that would change colors as her
mood changed. She also had pink decorative wings. She also had the
ability to see the color of other people's emotions. She also had three
sisters; they are half human and half bird. These sisters had beaks and
feather's and were called "Harpies."
Isis would travel on her rainbows. Although there is a
scientific version of how rainbows are created, now you now about Isis, and
that there just might be a person responsible for this exquisite form of
nature. So next time you look at a rainbow, remember that it didn't appear out
of nowhere. Someone was responsible for it. You know her name. Isis.
I think that was really cool and I hope that you are fine with me doing my kids corner post on mythology.
