Connor: Soccer Tournament Recap

For my kids corner post I’m going to inform you of the soccer tournament I just played in. I play for Synergy Sports, and last weekend we played in Springfield, Missouri. In our first game we played the #1 team in Arkansas and lost 3-1 :(. That team was in light blue and had a big Clorox logo on the front of their jerseys, so we called them clorox. My coach got pretty mad at the ref in that game because we got a free kick and scored, but then the ref called it offsides. After we scored! And it wasn’t even offsides! In the second game we played a neon green team and lost 2-1 :(. But later that team beat clorox in triple overtime, then beat the Magic in the championship. In our third game we finally won 4-0. It should have been 5-0 because I scored. However after the play was over the stinking ref called it a hand ball on ME even though the ball didn’t touch any part my hand or arm. Ella: Brilliant BizTown

Brilliant BizTown By:  Ella Medley On Tuesday, January 23rd the fifth grade classes went to BizTown in St. Louis.  BizTown is a simulation of a community.  Each student is assigned a job in one of the BizTown businesses.  My job was the principal CEO of JA University.  We spent our time at work completing the tasks we were assigned.  For our work we were paid BizTown dollars that we could deposit into our checking accounts.  On our breaks we could spend our money at the BizTown businesses.   The businesses and services at BizTown included: AT&T, Monsanto, Purina, Biz Mart, JA University, Children’s Hospital, City Hall, Professional Offices, Utilities, Warehouse, KJAR radio station, Tech Mahindra, Print Shop, Smokehouse Market, Mastercard, First Bank,  and KPLR 11 television station.  We learned what it is like to earn money and make decisions about how to spend it.  According to the fifth graders that voted, the favorit...

Katie: Funny Forecast

The weather forecast for today is:      It will be a cloudy day with a chance of bacon a nd raining soda. The temperature going to be 34* out and watch out chocolate puddles, the ground is going to be frozen popsicles.  Make sure you wear a coat,  rain boots and an umbella. Be very careful because you don't want to step in th e chocolate.   You might get some luck,  it’s  supposed to become a little warm . Be careful you don't want to get hit by  bacon do you ? We will be having P.E and we are going to be playing 4 square volleyball, I wonder who is going to win ? In science, we learned about matters. It is really fun because we got to guess what we thought were in the cups.
