Sam: Spring Break Recap

Information of my Spring Break

Hi everyone! For my spring break, I went to Gulf Shores, Alabama and had a lot of fun so I decided to write a blog about what I did there and what you could do there if you went, too.

The first day I was there we basically hung out on the beach all day which was pretty fun. Usually beaches are pretty crowded but what we did, and what you could do to avoid lots of people, is rent a condo or small house on the beach. It is basically the same price as a hotel on the beach but you get more, like a full kitchen for what you would be paying for half that at a decent hotel.

For the second day we were there, we were at the beach all morning and then went to a place called Papa Rocco’s for some pizza. After that, we went right across the road for some of the best ice cream I’ve had in a while, from a place called Scoops.

On the third day, and I think you’ve guessed it, we hang out at the beach in the morning, like we did everyday to avoid the rain in the afternoon. After that we had a lunch from home and went to the Cactus Cantina, which was a great Mexican place for dinner. After dinner, we went to an amazing place called The Track. The Track had all sorts of fun like Go Karts and Bumper Boats but was pretty expensive. It also had this thing called the Skycoaster, which basically is a swing from 80 feet up. You get stopped into a harness and swing form 80 feet up. We also did Go-Karts which you have to be at least 56 inches to drive by yourself.

The next day we met up with our friends and went to a super fun place called The Hangout for dinner. It had live music and bungee cords and pretty good food too. It was also right on the beach so if you wanted to bring your swimming suit, you could eat and then dive in to the water.

On the 4the day of our spring break vacation, we had fun at the beach and went to a mini-golf place called Pirates Island which was very fun and if you go there, I recommend Blackbeard’s source which was a bit harder than Captain Kidd’s. We then went crab catching at night with our friends. If you want to catch crabs, I recommend going out to the beach right after sunset because that’s when they all come out of the ground. Also, if you don’t have a net, DON’T GO AFTER THE BIG CRABS but if you want to catch the little ones, throw a bunch of sand on them, grab the sand and throw it into your crab-holding bucket. We went out a bit too late, though, and only caught 2 little ones.

On the 5th and last day of our trip, we had a lot of fun at the beach and then went to a place called Lulu’s which had a really cool rope course where they strapped you into a harness and you climbed around a massive structure full of bridges and climbing nets and all kinds of fun. We then met up with more of our friends that had rented a beach house and started a bonfire and went crab hunting again. That time, we found LOADS of crabs and 4 really big ones.
This is a little guy we were catching. (Sorry about the blurry photo, the crab was running.)

After that, we went back to the condo, went to bed and in the morning, we drove home. Thank you so much for reading and I recommend all of the places I mentioned.
